Tom Jepson Creative

Biography

Behind the screen, sharpies, and Post-It notes…

I’m Tom, an experienced UX designer, workshop facilitator, and podcaster. I’ve helped businesses small and large prove product concepts, gain investment funding, enhance existing products, and create new digital products from the seed of an idea.

I’m a problem explorer, most interested in understanding peoples’ motivations and challenges. It’s in these stories that you find the greatest opportunities for creating strong UX strategies and the best user experiences.

I want people to feel engaged in the work we do together, recognising the value of design for their project. With over a decade of experience in the digital domain I am an advocate for my clients’ customers, offer clear solutions to any challenge, and champion collaboration throughout every project. While we’re working together, I might challenge your thinking. However, I’ll make sure I explain every question I ask and design decision I offer.

The Past and Present

Before working with digital products, I worked in communication management and staff incentivisation for Vision Express. It was in this role that I learned important lessons in client communication and discovered a love for print design - layout, typography, and clearly-ordered content - that still underpin my work today.

Away from the whiteboard I am a parent to two stellar young people and a husband to a very supportive wife! I’m musical hobbyist although, in a previous life, I was an in-demand session drummer.
